Drowning in a Sea of Scarlet

It's one thing to hear about the Buckeye fever that sweeps over Columbus on OSU game days. But it's quite another thing to witness it first hand, to fall into the sea of scarlet, to join the 109,999 other fans packing the stadium. These people are the definition of team spirit.

When I woke up on Saturday, I was a complete football neophyte. As far as I was concerned, a down was a nickname for the cozy comforter I'd been forced to abandon to begin the day.

After a quick purchase of a snazzy scarlet shirt complete with sparkling Buckeye bling, we headed to the game.

A few hours later, I finally had a working understanding of the rules of football. And we even got to pose with a couple of the Buckeye cheerleaders.

Still wouldn't call myself a football fan, but definitely have a better understanding of the full Columbus experience.
This is my Wordful, Wordless and Way-back wednesday post!

Oh no! You've gone to the darkside! LOL. Don't worry. I harass all my OSU fan friends equally. Go Penn State!

It's amazing to see this sea of scarlet. I never understood how integrated football is in the American culture until I moved east. It's like another religion. Great photos!
