Pasta Night Gift Baskets Giveaway

GIVEAWAY SATURDAY
*** Thank you to so many of you for entering! It was great to see that everyone struggles with getting dinner on the table. Random.org selected comments #346, 112, and 51 as the winners. Congrats to Nanana, Laura, and Bridget3420! ***

I am normally a pretty big cooking snob when it comes to mixes and prepared foods. I just prefer to make my own sauces and put my own dishes together. But I do like to have some quality mixes on hand for when life gets too crazy.

When I received this box of Macaroni Grill creamy basil angel hair pasta to review, I opened my pantry and tucked it away. I didn't think about it again until I was ransacking the fridge and pantry at 8PM a few weeks ago trying to come up with a good side to have with shrimp. I grabbed the box on a whim, whipped it up in fifteen minutes, and was sorely tempted to pass off the final product as my own creation when Steve devoured it.

I've since replaced that sample box with a few more in my pantry... just in case.

Today for giveaway I have three "What's for Dinner" Macaroni Grill Restaurant Classics at Home gift baskets. Each winner will receive a box of Creamy Basil Angel Hair chicken to try along with some great cooking utensils to make their dinner: a colander, a spatula, and a slotted spoon. I received the same gift basket and the three utensils were so nice that they made the "decluttering" cut to keep in our kitchen for our last month at home before the big move.

To enter to win, just leave me a comment here by Friday, May 29 with your biggest struggle when cooking dinner for your family. I'll select the three winners at random that night. As usual, you can get extra chances to win by:
  1. Linking to this contest on your blog.
  2. Subscribing to my feeds for Chefdruck Musings.
  3. subscribing to my feed for Chefdruck Reviews.
  4. You can also Tweet about it for an extra entry.
Please make sure to leave me separate comments for extra chance to win.

My biggest challenge is finding the time to sqeeze in dinner prep time, etc around my kids activities. They each are only doing one thing at a time, but I have 5 kids and that makes things tough. Meals like this would be great on busy baseball nights!

My biggest meal challenge is the fact that every member of my family wants to eat different things. I feel like I can either be a short order cook and please everybody or make everybody eat the same thing and be really mean.

I like to shop once a week on a limited budget so making sure I cook what everyone like because I hate waste.
I try to make favorite dishes for them 1-2 a week so I don't hear too many complaints.
These look great and I know my daughter is going to love them because whenever we go out to eat she gets the shrimp and angel hair alfredo
I can't wait to try!!

I don't have problems with recipe ideas (my boyfriend and I both love to cook), nor cooking multiple things to accomodate multiple tastes. Nope! Oddly enough, my most challenging battle in my kitchen is having clean dishes, or dishes, period. My boyfriend has a habit of either breaking dishes, or they just magically disappear (get thrown out, along with the silverware in them) when they are dirty and it's his turn to wash. And, of course, when it's his turn to wash, you can expect a hefty delay... as in, when every dish in the house is dirty and there are no more options left... +1 1/2 weeks. However, knowing that he loves to marvel at himself in the mirror, I have placed one above the sink, so that he can be distracted into completing the task!
